For Watch Glass Polishing Machine

A Good way to Polish Natural (Mineral) Glass

Every natural watch glass polishing machine has two iron discs. One disc is covered with thick cloth on the surface and the other is bare. The disc without the cloth is used for removing deep scratches and the disc with the cloth is used for polishing and shining the glass. Two types of powder are supplied with every machine. One powder which is white in color is called no. 303 and is used for removing scratches. The second powder which is red in color is called Red oxide or red polish and is used for polishing and shining the glass.

If the glass has scratches than fix the disc (which is without cloth) on the machine. Mix water in powder no 303 which is white in color and make paste. Put a little of the paste on the glass as well as on the disc and start the machine. Rub the glass on the disc. while rubbing if the paste becomes thick than apply water with the fingers on the disc. Keep applying water (if necessary) with the fingers so that the paste is neither thick nor thin. After rubbing for sometime the scratches will be removed and the glass will become blurred. After that.

Fix the 2nd disc (which has thick cloth on the surface) on the machine. Add water to the red polish and make paste. Put the paste on the disc and apply water. Make the disc cloth absorb as much paste as possible. Start the machine and rub the glass on the cloth surface. Keep applying water and paste so that the paste is neither thin nor thick. After rubbing the glass for sometime you will see the glass is polished and shining
These are a few hints rest with experience you will master the process

NOTE

In the Double motor double disc polishing machine the same process is applied. There is no need to change the disc again and again. Two persons can work on it.
Make the disc with the cloth absorb. as much red paste as possible in the cloth. Thereafter a small paste will be enough.
You can apply water with fingers or with wet cloth or with a spounge to the disc so that the paste is neither thick nor thin. (Thin paste will flow away and thick will grab the Glass.)
